Mora Risberg Carbon - Black Skies
Description / Mora Risberg Carbon - Black Skies
The Mora Risberg Carbon is a compact outdoor knife built for reliability in the field. Designed for everyday outdoor use, it is suitable for hiking, fishing, camping and general camp tasks where a practical and easy to carry knife is needed. Its balanced size makes it comfortable to use while remaining light enough to keep close at hand during outdoor trips.
The 91 mm blade is made from German C100S carbon steel produced by C.D. Wälzholz. Carbon steel is valued for its ability to take an extremely sharp edge and for its toughness during wood work and camp tasks. The blade is hardened to around 58.5 HRC and uses a traditional Scandi grind, giving excellent control when carving wood, preparing kindling or handling more precise tasks around camp.
The blade runs close into the handle which improves control when working near the edge. This allows more stable and controlled cutting when carving or doing detailed work.
The ergonomic handle is made from durable polypropylene which handles moisture, dirt and cold conditions well. The shape provides a secure grip and includes a finger guard for safer handling during extended use. A lanyard hole at the end of the handle allows the knife to be attached to cord or paracord if needed.
The supplied polymer sheath features a secure click lock system that holds the knife firmly in place. It can be worn on either the right or left side and can also attach directly to the button on outdoor trousers for convenient carry while moving around camp.
Produced in Mora, Sweden, the Risberg continues Morakniv’s long tradition of practical knives designed for real outdoor use.

FAQ
How does the Mora Risberg Carbon compare to the Mora Companion Carbon
The Mora Risberg Carbon and Mora Companion Carbon are both versatile outdoor knives built around the same Scandinavian design principles. They share similar blade geometry and steel types but differ slightly in size and handle construction.
| Feature | Mora Risberg Carbon | Mora Companion Carbon |
|---|---|---|
| Blade length | 91 mm | approx. 104 mm |
| Blade thickness | 2 mm | approx. 2 mm |
| Steel | C100S carbon steel | Carbon steel |
| Hardness | ~58.5 HRC | approx. 58 to 60 HRC |
| Grind | Scandi grind | Scandi grind |
| Handle | Polypropylene | Rubberised grip over polymer |
The Companion Carbon is slightly larger with a blade around 104 mm long, giving it a bit more reach for general outdoor work such as food preparation or cutting larger materials.
The Risberg Carbon has a shorter 91 mm blade which makes the knife more compact and slightly easier to control during detailed work such as carving or small camp tasks.
Both knives use a traditional Scandi grind which provides excellent control when working with wood and is easy to sharpen in the field. Carbon steel also allows the blade to take a very sharp edge but requires basic maintenance to prevent rust.
Which one should I choose
Choose the Mora Risberg Carbon if you want a slightly more compact knife that is easy to carry and offers excellent control for carving and everyday camp tasks.
Choose the Mora Companion Carbon if you prefer a slightly longer blade with a rubberised handle designed for comfortable grip during extended outdoor use.
