Customer Reviews
Anyway, the knife: I agree with both of the previous reviews except that mine didn't have the uneven grind (thankfully). Out of the box the sheath is very stiff but I'd rather that than a flimsy one. A bit of leather softener and some rough handling and it'll be fine. The blade is OK but will certainly benefit from some work on the waterstones. I don't like the grey finish on the blade and may well remove that before long. The handle is "hardwood". Not sure what kind but it looks like a deal/mahogany type wood. Whatever it is, it's as dry as a dry thing! So far I've given it 4 coats of boiled linseed oil X white spirit and it's still soaking it in.
Is any of this a problem? Not for me it isn't. I'd much rather a hardworking knife at this price point than a perfectly finished thing of beauty that I'd be afraid to use at 4 times the price!
I love it and can't wait to take it out.
Condor's quality has come on in leaps in the past few years, so don't be put off by old reviews on the net as they aren't reflective of the current range.
Great outdoor knife at a teanth of the cost of most rival products.
You could easily pay the asking price just for the sheath - thick, well stitch leather.
Blade may need a strop to get to required edge, but any knife is going to need sharpening at some point - so at this price a little effort upfront is worth the saving.
I have three different Condors and am very happy with them all.
Also check out the Bushlore Mini!
Uneven grind on each side resulting in an off centre edge.
Rivets protruding or countersunk on the handle.
The sheath is too tight for ease of use.
Required quite a bit of work to bring it up to the knife I was expecting.
